"Hold a tree to your heart"

Communing with nature has a highly beneficial effect on the body, including reduction in the level of cortisol and adrenaline, i.e. stress hormones, calms, soothes, exercises concentration. According to the Japanese, forest bathing or "Shinrin-yoku" is something more than a walk among the trees. It is absorbing the atmosphere of the forest with all your senses. Therefore, you should hug the trees, smell the bark, leaves, listen to the forest sounds and walk barefoot in the forest.

And what does that mean for us...? Let's hug the trees to be healthy and happy. Author: Agnieszka Pater
